Maintenance Engineering

The experienced maintenance engineers of Hou Holding develop installation related maintenance concepts, procedures and control programs completely or partly. The requests of our clients are prior to our advice. We recommend the best choices from a large number of variants and possibilities. Parts of projects are possible. So we have a large experience of investigation in the inventory, equipment and installations for correct data input in your Maintenance Management System (MMS). For the development of the maintenance concepts we are guided by the principal trends in the maintenance philosophy TPM- (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM- (Reliable Centred Maintenance) philosophy. We prefer the RCM philosophy. TPM philosophy is aimed to the complete organisation and the whole production results, This philosophy asks a lot effort of the personnel by the continuously process of demands "Is the development of the process positive". The RCM philosophy is a more detailed method. Like a part in the engine, when all parts are running the engine delivers the required power and the installation will stay in production. In the RCM-philosophy you can easily split up the production process in related parts to get a better overview of the development of the maintenance concept. We can employ experienced engineers for all disciplines (mechanical, rotating, electrical and instrumentation).

Working method

  • Design of the maintenance concept in strict consultation with the client;
  • Development of the maintenance procedures en checklists for all disciplines;
  • Create a maintenance year planning and year budget on the basis of the inventory and maintenance procedures;
  • Install and implement a Maintenance Management System. For instance to support the software engineers for linking the equipment or installation parts to procedures and spare part lists;
  • Well-considered determination of the spare part stock, which will be a reflection of an acceptable production loss (by risk analyses) and the stock investment costs;
  • Establish the performance indicators for a quick and simple control of the progress of your maintenance plan;
  • Correct the maintenance plan after examination of the reported information and corrections;
  • Advise to improve the production process by another equipment choice or modification of the installation in order to prevent more production losses and decrease the maintenance costs.
